Perfect Day by Lou Reed

'Perfect Day' by Lou Reed.

This is one of those songs that reminds one of Lou Reed's ultimate greatness. The sweetness is underlaid always with a certain bitterness.

'You made me forget myself. I thought I was some one else, some one good...
You're going to reap just what you sow.'

As a matter of fact, I will include a clip from the film 'Trainspotting' featuring the same song. This clip really reflects Lou Reed better, but is not suitable for the faint-hearted...

One of the more bizarre videos I found on You Tube featured Lou Reed with Pavarotti singing 'Perfect Day'. I'm afraid that, however happy it makes me to know that Lou Reed now has the universal recognition he deserves, the 'duet' was less than sublime.
